Parents of 5th graders are invited to mix and mingle in celebration of our children’s amazing years at the Willard Elementary School! Come share your memories over cocktails and desserts!
Tickets: Tickets are $25 per person and include drinks (beer, wine, nonalcoholic beverages) and a selection of desserts.
Parking: Please park on either Garfield or Oxbow Rd.
Adults only, no children please.

The Spring Fling will feature a DJ that will get the party moving, an ice-cream truck, crafts, and the much anticipated Willard Raffle! All Willard students, staff, and families are welcome to attend this free event!
Drop your tickets in your favorite gift basket for a chance to win.
Online ticket sales open May 8th and end on May 17 at noon. Tickets may be purchased at the event as well.

You may purchase tickets at dismissal on May 14 and 15, and at the event on Sunday, May 18.

Join us and show your love of Science!
The Science Fair is not competitive and there are no judges. All student scientists will receive participation awards and will be entered into a raffle for exciting, science-related prizes.
How it works:
Work alone or with friends or siblings with up to 4 on a team. Feel free to get assistance from parents or other adults, but make this project your own.
Each team will select a team name, designate a parent lead, and decide on a project. It is ok to register before finalizing your project plans.

At registration let us know if your project requires special needs, such as extra space or electrical outlets. Not sure yet? That's OK. Get in touch with us by April 28.
We will email you after registration closes with details about the event. All correspondence will be sent to your Team Parent's email address.
Projects may NOT use animals, open or concealed flames, gases, non-contained microbial cultures, flammable liquids, or dangerous methods.

About Family Math Night
Math Night is an annual celebration of calculations and community! Parent volunteers work together with parents at the other elementary schools in Concord to create a fun themed evening of math activities for kids and families. Concessions will be available.

We want to celebrate everyone's cultural identity, whether it's rooted in the U.S.A. or anywhere around the world. The event will showcase Willard's community, foster a sense of belonging, and teach our children about geography, traditions, food, art, and more!

Make a team of 3 people from your grade and pick a team name (or find a team on the sign up genius that needs another teammate).
Register your team by March 11
Study and practice your word list for your grade
Create team uniforms, posters or anything you want to display for your team on the day of the spelling bee as long as it isn’t too distracting.
Everyone will receive a certificate and the winning teams will get a prize!
Teams will have a small amount of time to discuss the spelling of each word and will then write the word on a team white board.
At the end of 60 seconds, teams will hold up their white boards and will be given a point for each word they spell correctly.
There will also be a challenge round where teams can earn 2 points for each correctly spelled word.
The team with the most points at the end wins!

If you'd like to participate, your child can bring donations to their classrooms Nov 13-17 where the 5th graders will collect them. We are hoping to make 200 bags this year. The online auction will be open online to preview items starting Sunday, October 29 at 5pm and bidding will open at Noon on Monday, October 30th. We have lots of great items this year including Patriot's tickets, summer camps, a police car ride to school, teacher experiences, the ever-popular principal for the day, birthday parties, fitness memberships, a cosmetic botox package, restaurant gift certificates plus so much more!
Bidding will be available online both to families who attend the Willard Parent Social as well as those who are not able to attend! Auction closes at 9PM on Friday, November 3rd, so BID EARLY, and BID OFTEN!
All proceeds from the auction further the mission of the PTG.

WILLARD PTG BOOK FAIR IS BACK!!!
The Willard PTG is happy to announce the return of the in person book fair! We have partnered with The Silver Unicorn in Acton and are pleased to offer over 200 titles for all grade levels. Details below!
Time: Tuesday, October 17th and Wednesday, October 18th.
Evening hours will be offered Tuesday, October 17th from 5:45-7:30pm
IMPORTANT DETAILS
Students will be visiting the Book Fair during the day with their class. Feel free to stop by during your child/children’s allotted time or you can send your child to school with book fair money! Check the sign up genius to find your student’s class time here.
As in years past, we will have the option for families to fulfill teacher and librarian “Wish List” requests to enhance classroom libraries and add to the school library collection. Books will be available to purchase during the book fair.
We are pleased to offer over 200 titles for all grade levels. Check out the list here.
About Book Fair
The annual Willard Book Fair is a PTG fundraiser for our school library. The library benefits from the proceeds generated by books sales by receiving in-kind donations of current books for the library collection.
Our goal is to provide appropriate books for every reading level and price level to keep the kids excited about reading! We stock books from the authors who visit Willard through the Authors’ Fest, Easy Readers with familiar characters, MCBA Award books and popular series such as Horrible Harry and the Magic Tree House, as well as many non-fiction books about social studies, science and poetry! We also stock graphic novels and fun-to-do books. Prices begin at $3.99 and average around $12.

Get your smiles ready!
Below you will find a few details to help you prepare for the day:
Your child will receive a Coffee Pond handout from their teacher. To order go to www.coffeepond.com. If you order online, there is NO need to print a receipt for your child to bring into school.
Pictures will be taken outside. In the event of rain, pictures will be taken inside.
Each class will take a group class photo!

Dr. Greene is a clinical psychologist and a New York Times bestselling author whose influential work is known around the world. He is well known for developing the model of care -- Collaborative and Proactive Solutions -- that helps parents, guardians and teachers solve problems and build collaborative relationships with the children in their care. In his most recent book, Raising Human Beings, he explains how to cultivate a better parent/guardian-child relationship while also nurturing empathy, honesty, resilience and independence.
