Event Descriptions

BOOK FAIR

The annual Willard Book Fair is a PTG fundraiser for our school library and classroom libraries. The Book Fair is held on a Monday and half-day Tuesday in late October in the cafeteria. It is open during school hours both days as well as Monday night. All classes will visit the Book Fair during the school day - that schedule is published in the Willard Weekly. Parents are invited to come to the Book Fair when their child’s class visits during the school day or to stop by Monday evening. Our goal is to provide books for every reading level and price level to keep the kids excited about reading! We stock books from the authors who visit Willard, Easy Readers with familiar characters, MCBA Award books and popular series such as Horrible Harry and Magic Tree House, as well as many non-fiction books, graphic novels, and fun-to-do books. Prices begin at $3.99 and average around $12.  Volunteers provide supervision during classroom visits, organize books, can be cashiers, and more! bookfair@willardptg.org

Family Game Night

Spread out a beach blanket in the gym and enjoy several rounds of bingo with fun activities and dancing in between.  Come for one round or stay for all. There are prizes for all bingo/game winners. This free event is high-energy and can get a little loud! It’s usually held on a Friday night in January in the gym. Festive, tropical attire encouraged (Hawaiian shirts, leis, etc)!  Questions? gamenight@willardptg.org

FAMILY MATH NIGHT

Math Night is a fun evening of math activities for kids and families at Willard, usually on a Friday night in the spring. Volunteers are necessary for its success!  No need to know high math :) If you’re interested in volunteering, please reach out to our event chairs mathnight@willardptg.org

FIELD DAYS

Willard students are treated to a fun day of games and activities on the Willard fields during the school day at the beginning of June. Organized by the gym specialist, Mr. Germond. Parent volunteers are always needed, and it’s a great opportunity for you to see your child in action. Kindergarten and 1st graders each have their own field day, lasting about 1½ hrs. 2nd/3rd and 4th/5th graders share their field days, each lasting about 2½ hours.  fieldday@willardptg.org
