Spelling Bees

The annual Willard Spelling Bee is held in the spring in the Willard School. Students in grades 3 through 5 are invited to participate. Students compete in teams. Admission is free to this fun event filled with friendly competition and educational challenge. We hope to see you at the BEE!

Registration

Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis through a SignUpGenius link that is shared through the Willard Weekly.  There are a set number of teams for each grade.

If you need some help recruiting team members, teachers are a great resource for finding other students who may be interested in participating. 

Schedule

3rd graders:

• Compete in teams of three.

• Form a team – pick a team name!

• Words chosen from 3rd grade word list

4th graders:

• Compete in teams of three.

• Form a team – pick a team name!

• Words from 4th grade word list and 4th and 5th grade challenge word list

5th graders:

• Compete in teams of three

• Form a team – pick a team name!

• Words from 5th grade word list and 4th and 5th grade challenge word list

Parents

• Each team / group needs one parent coach.

• Coach will serve as our contact person.

• Coach will be responsible for communicating and coordinating with your team, and encouraging your team to practice prior to the Bee.

• Help pick a team name!
