5th Grade Events & Celebration

Willard School traditionally marks the end of the Fifth Grade year with a 5th Grade Celebration. The event includes an informal ceremony during which students have the opportunity to share something positive about their Willard experience, are awarded their DARE certificates, and are presented with the 5th Grade Yearbooks. Following the ceremony, the Willard PTG provides the students with lunch and leads them in 5th Grade Fun Day activities. The following day, the last day of school, traditionally all Willard students and staff line the halls of the school and/or the walkway and clap and cheer as the 5th graders leave the building for the last time.

Additionally, the 5th Grade classes from all three Concord elementary schools get together near the end of the school year for a “Mix Up Picnic”. The students are mixed up into teams for fun field day events, giving them the opportunity to meet and play with potential future-classmates before entering middle school.

In addition, Willard will continue the tradition started last year of having a 5th Grade Give Back Service Day. Instead of presenting the school with a class gift, our class will have the opportunity to give the gift of their time and talent to whole town of Concord on 5th Grade “Give Back Service Day“.

5th Grade Families should mark the following dates on their calendars:

  • Tuesday, April 30 – Yearbook Items Due
  • Tuesday, May 21, 12:30pm - Give Back Service Day
  • Wednesday, June 5, 6:00pm  – Arts Retrospective Night
  • Tuesday, June 11, 12:30pm - Mix-Up Picnic
